Aroma: Intense aromas of hazelnuts, walnuts and almonds with a touch of tobacco, cassis and white chocolate
Taste: Ripe, fruit forward and powerful from fortified brandy and in oak casks makes for slightly raisin notes with the Fruit, but bright acidity keeps it balanced. A classic Entry level red Port from The Douro Valley comprised of over 20 red grape varietals fermented in stainless and then complemented with grape brandy to fortify and stop fermentation. The wine is then aged in seasoned oak casks for at least 3 years before bottling. Bright, raisiny fruit with a mellow texture and lasting complexity on the palate. Portuguese in style which shows great balance and elegance without showing too much fruit.
Food pairings: An excellent apertif or paired with less sweet chocolate desserts, rich nuts, and savory snacks.
