Donkey & Goat, New Glou (2020)
Wine: Red
Varietal: Marsanne, Mourvèdre, and Grenache
Geography: California, United States
Size: 750 mL
ABV: 11.2%

Aroma:  A light, fruity fragrance with a bit of spice on the nose.

Taste: Strawberry, watermelon, lime zest and pepper on the palate.  This lively young wine will be interesting in a couple years but is also too good now to wait that long!

Pairing: A lovely red for medium-fatty fish, lighter red meat dishes and anything featuring pepper!

Additional notes:  A mouthwatering, pinkish wine made from little maceration and mostly direct press from the Lightner and Fenaughty Vineyards in El Dorado.  The backbone is a co-fermentation of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre where 1/3 was de-stemmed and 2/3 was direct press.  The pressed atop Vermentino must and later finessed the blenc with additions of Marsanne and a red Grenache.
